The first draft of the first book is more like Draft 1.4, considering how many times I rewrote the first four chapters.
I simply couldn’t figure out how to get these four characters into the right situation while keeping you, dear reader, interested. I’m sure there’s more Kill Your Darlings moments to come as the drafts get revised, but I’m very sad drunk!Sebastian is currently in the trash folder. I will find a way to get him back in a future book!
The first draft also currently clocks in at ~123,000 words. Which… is on the high end, from what I can tell. I’m sure an editor will slice out parts, though currently I don’t know from where. It’s a slightly plot-thick story at this point.
This is also the first draft of this website. It will hopefully get better as I go. I’m planning to add a few pages with details of the world: a timeline of the alternate history of the last 1600 years; a Chromatic Circle showing the mapping of musical notes to magical abilities and the corresponding wavelengths of light; and a map of the world as it is at the start of Tomb of the Last God.
