I’m not saying how I just spent the last three days wasn’t fun or interesting, but I am saying it was definitely a way to procrastinate on figuring out how the heist in Book Two is going to work.
I was the kid who waited until 9PM the night before an assignment was due (and… a few times until 6AM before it was due) and then banged it out and got 110% and ruined the curve for everyone. And that’s translated into adulthood with mixed if mostly okay results.
Anywho, I found a program called Unity that is used to create video games, and played around with it to create the various 3D models I’ve updated the site with this week. It’s simultaneously an opaque nightmare of one million options and parameters AND a really cool engine that’s pretty easy to get going in, once you get used to it. But it is incredibly fickle, and makes that tweet about changing a Microsoft Word image and everything going to hell seem like a reasonable result.
I’ve updated the Tomb of the Last God page with the new renders and some sample chapters that get sent as part of the Agent Query.
So, here are a few of the models I’ve created so far. Some day, hopefully all of this will be published and there will be far more talented people out there creating fan art for this world, but for now it’s nice to have something to visualize that’s better than the basic Visio wireframes.
